Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust has provided textbooks, notebooks and stationery items to as many as 125 students studying at different levels at the government schools in Desra valley, Haripur. In the next phase, it would provide school uniform to these students. These students were in need of these books to continue their education in the academic year 2013-14.
This announcement would be a continuation of Trust efforts to provide quality education to the street children. In the academic year 2012-13, Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust (BMWT) has provided free education to many children and would continue their financial assistance in the coming years also. These students have excelled in their curricular and extra-curricular activities during the last academic year.
The parents of these selected students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad were unable to manage academic expenses. In order to provide quality education, Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust joined hands with two private schools located in Barakahu-a suburb area of federal Capital and enrolled these children.
Hina Fysal, Chief Executive and Co-Founder, Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust (BMWT) said that in continuation of financial assistance, Trust have enrolled additional 100 students during this year which would help to increase the literacy level in the area. Trust would also expand the computer lab and provide more computers to the schools to equip the students with latest technology and its tools.
