Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Minister for Information and Education Mossarat Qadeem has said that the provincial government will continue constructive activities like Swat Summer Festival 2013 in all the terror-hit areas and all-out co-ordination will be extended for taking those activities toward success.
She was presiding over a high level meeting in Peshawar regarding finalisation of arrangements for Swat Summer Festival 2013 which will be held at Ushoo forests and Mahudhand with effect from June 19 to 22. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Information and Culture Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Brigadier Zahid, Colonel Niaz and Director Information Bahramand Jan and officers of Information and Tourism departments.
Brigadier Zahid briefed the minister on different aspects of the said festival and on the major events to be included in the Swat Summer Festival 2013. He told the meeting that the Swat Summer Festival would be held at Ushoo forests and Mahudhand in Kalam. He said the purpose of the festival was to give the message to the global community that there existed complete peace and normalcy in Swat and they should travel there without any risk and danger. He said that the festival would attract the people around the world towards Swat, the paradise on Earth. He said tourism was like a backbone in the socio-economic sector in Swat and it was the need of the hour that different festivals should be arranged there from time to time.
Brigadier Zahid also told the meeting that in the Swat Summer Festival 2013, some of the events would be paragliding show, air show, jeep rally, sports adventures, culture show and fun fair show. He disclosed that like other programmes, musical night would be held daily. He said Pak Army would make all the arrangements including the security for the festival.
