Despite the challenge of intensifying inputs mainly on account of power outages, the cement sector's financial results are showing positive trends due to increase in demand for cement locally and abroad. Chief Financial Officer, Lafarge Pakistan, Bilal Hamid stated this while speaking at a corporate briefing arranged by the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday.
Company Secretary, Waseem A. Malik and Maryam Baqir, Manager Corporate Communications of the Lahore Stock Exchange were also present on the occasion. He said that energy shortage is one of the biggest challenges faced by the industrial sector of Pakistan while Lafarge Pakistan has already pursued rental power to meet its continuous production process requirements to maintain output.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Baqir while highlighting the objectives of the corporate briefing said that it provides an opportunity to the companies to brief investors and the broker community on the updated operational, financial and strategic positioning of the companies. Corporate briefing programme aims to bridge the gap between the listed companies and investor's community and provide them with an opportunity to share company's firsthand information.
