Sindh Chief Secretary, Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry, has asked the Provincial Secretary for Local Government to immediately submit a report about number of sanctioned posts and budgetary allocations so that the issue related to non-payment of salaries to LG employees could be examined as per rules.
He issued these directives in a meeting held on Monday to review measures required to be adopted in rain emergency situation during the forthcoming monsoons. The Commissioner Karachi raised the issue of alleged unlawful appointments in TMAs leading to complications in the procedure of salary payments. The Sindh Chief Secretary asked all departmental secretaries to look into the issue and co-ordinate with Accountant General Sindh office. He, however, directed Secretary for Local Department, being directly involved, to submit a detailed report about the issue.
