Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Senator Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said India and Pakistan should hold talks on Kashmir and water disputes so that headway could be made towards solution of these problems. He expressed these views during a meeting with prominent intellectual, columnist and chief of Council for External Affairs India Dr V. P. Vaidik on Monday.
On the occasion, his sons Chaudhry Shafay Hussain and Chaudhry Salik Hussain were also present. Dr Vaidik said that political leadership of India wishes to have good relations with Pakistan and is hopeful that newly elected leadership in Pakistan will make headway regarding problems of the region in particular for improvement of relations and talks between India and Pakistan. He said that we also understand that talks should be held on all issues including Kashmir and water so that matters can move ahead.
In response to a query about political situation in India, he said that currently Indian Government is also facing difficulties but still it is ready for taking process of talks with Pakistan onward. Shujat Hussain said that if serious problems are solved then headway regarding other issues will automatically commence. He said that he has always been in favour of talks but these should be fruitful and real issues should also be taken along with.
