The Karachi Port handled 222,544 tonnes of cargo comprising 154,856 tonnes of import cargo and 67,688 tonnes of export cargo including 4,743 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 154,856 tonnes comprised 58,488 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,258 tonnes of general cargo; 11,253 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,093 tonnes of DAP; 2,160 tonnes of rock phosphate and 79,857 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 67,688 tonnes comprised 63,213 tonnes of containerised cargo; 438 tonnes of general cargo and 4,037 tonnes of cement. As many as 4,743 containers comprising 1,561 containers import and 3,182 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 785 of 20's and 388 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 975 of 20's and 648 of 40's loaded containers while 177 of 20's and 367 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are nine ships namely APL Sharjah, YM West, Tasanee, North Power, Med Pacific, Tamar, Euro Progress, Bunga Kantan Dua and Andre Rickmers with four container ships, four oil tankers and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are five vessels viz North Power, Maliakos, Med Pacific, Evian and New Horizon with two container ships, one oil tanker, one rock phosphate carrier and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
There is no ship sailed out to sea on Monday. There are three vessels viz Hyundai Confidence, Lodestar Genesis and Le Li with one container ship, one chemicals carrier and one general cargo ship respectively due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz Kota Gembira, Wan Hai-503, Dawn, Ebn Batuta, Formosa Falcon and Vicente with two container ships, one ethanol tanker, one SF oil Tanker, one naphtha tanker and one steel ship respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 86,159 tonnes comprising 84,647 tonnes of import cargo and 1,512 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 233 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 84,647 tonnes includes 55,312 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,854 tonnes of coal; 9,100 tonnes of chemicals and 3,381 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 1,512 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely MV Princess Park with chemicals sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV Maersk Memphis with containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk Memphis, Port Menier, Asian Express, MV Princess Park, MV Bulk Pangaea, Arietis and Wan Zhou Xing are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sand, steel coil, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as four ships namely Wan Hai-602, Nysted Maersk, MT Lahore and Kalamas with containers and furnace oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are no vessels expected to take berths on Monday. There is one ship namely CV Nysted Maersk with containers due to arrive on Monday.
