The Karachi Port handled 76,209 tonnes of cargo comprising 57,011 tonnes of import cargo and 19,198 tonnes of export cargo including 2,314 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 57,011 tonnes comprised 15,616 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,018 tonnes of general cargo; 11,536 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,955 tonnes of DAP; 7,581 tonnes of rock phosphate and 27,841 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,198 tonnes comprised 17,616 tonnes of containerised cargo; 498 tonnes of general cargo and 1,084 tonnes of cement. As many as 2,314 containers comprising 1,147 containers import and 1,167 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 506 of 20's and 254 of 40's loaded while 89 of 20's and 22 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 528 of 20's and 120 of 40's loaded containers while 179 of 20's and 110 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are two ships namely North Power and Maliakos with two container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are five vessels viz Hyundai Confidence, Kota Anggerik, Brightoil Legend, Lodestar Genesis and Le Li with two container ships, two oil tankers and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.

There are five vessels viz Kota Gembira, SC Guaji, Chemroad Vega, Ebn Batuta and Vicente with one container ship, one chemicals carrier, one ethanol tanker, one LSF oil Tanker and one steel ship respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while seven vessels viz Wan Hai-503, Santa Rosa, APL Brisbane, Posen, Dawn, Formosa Falcon and Mimasaka with four container ships, one ethanol tanker, one naphtha tanker and one steel ship respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 71,149 tonnes comprising 49,989 tonnes of import cargo and 21,160 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,906 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 49,989 tonnes includes 12,009 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,500 tonnes of palm oil; 12,269 tonnes of coal and 22,211 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,160 tonnes includes 6,527 tonnes of cement; 630 tonnes of sand and 14,003 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,906 containers comprising 1,169 containers import and 737 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There are two ships namely MV Arietis and Wan Zhou Xing with furnace oil and chemicals sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV Nysted Maersk with containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz CV Nysted Maersk, CV Maersk Memphis, MV Port Menier, MV Wan Zhou Xing, MV Asian Express, MV Bulk Pangaea and MT Arietis are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sand, steel coil, chemicals, coal and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely Sealand New York, Wan Hai-602, MT Lahore, Kalamas, Sea Charming and Spring Sunshine with containers, furnace oil, palm oil and fertiliser are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are five vessels viz CV Sealand New York, CV Wan Hai-602, MT Lahore, MT Sea Charming and MV Spring Sunshine with containers, furnace oil, palm oil and fertiliser expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) respectively on Tuesday.
There is one ship namely CV Al-Mutnabbi with containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Mozart with containers is due to arrive on Wednesday. There are six vessels viz CV Dubai Express, CV Bux Contact, CV MSC Levina, MT Kalamas, MV Norgas Innovation and MV Star Globe with containers, furnace oil, chemicals and cement respectively are also due to arrive as per arrival schedule.
