Dr Asim Hussain, former advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources, on Thursday appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigators. A NAB official said that the NAB team investigating Ogra scam asked several questions. For example, one of the questions was related to the controversial appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as chairman of Ogra. They asked him to identify who had recommended Sadiq''s appointment.
The Supreme Court had declared the appointment of Sadiq as Ogra chairman illegal and void ab initio in November 2011. Sadiq managed to evade arrest in Pakistan and fled to the United Arab Emirates. NAB spokesman Ramzan Sajid confirmed that Dr Asim has appeared before NAB investigators in the connection with the Ogra scam.
