Supreme Court moved for LB polls on non-party basis

Wattan Party has approached the Supreme Court seeking local bodies' elections on non-party basis within three months. The petitioner Barrister Zafarullah Khan of the party stated that unnecessary delay in local bodies' polls damaged the foundation of the country. He said the provincial governments were duty bound to initiate process of the elections in the province after expiry of requisite duration of the local bodies but the same had not been done in violation of the Constitution.
