The grant donated by international donors to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) for research related projects has reached Rs 400 million for its 43 research projects in 2012-13. This was stated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Mehmood Pasha while talking to APP on Sunday.
The 43 projects consist 26 international and 16 inside the country. Some few days back an Assistant Professor, University of the UVAS Dr Muhammad Imran Rashid, also won Rs 10.925 million in grant from "Grand Challenges Canada", a funding agency of Canada, for his research project.
His research project was titled "Development of toxoplasma multi-protein sub-unit vaccine and their experiment trials in mouse model administered intranasally with triad of antigens formulated in nanoparticles," Prof Pasha said. The UVAS has succeeded to get co-operation with four universities including Penensalvania State University, Michigun, Jackson State Universities and University of Canniticut of USA under US Ministry of Science and Technology winning Rs 200 million for four projects.
