Nomination papers for the slot of chief minister of Punjab Assembly were finalised at Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday. The election would be held at 11:00am today (Thursday). Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif PML-N and Mahmud-ur-Rashid PTI are contesting for the post. The PTI candidate is being supported by PML-Q in the elections. Both the parties are not seeking support of PPP in the elections. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is contesting for slot of chief minister third time. Prior to 18th Amendment a person could be elected to post only twice.
