Electronics and mobile phone traders in Lahore held demonstration on Thursday to draw attention to the increasing number of extortion calls received by them. Most of the shops remained closed in protest. The traders claimed that they have been threatened by an influential group in Hall Road to pay extortion on weekly and monthly basis. They said police was informed about the situation but no action has been taken so far. The traders urged police authorities to ensure security of the traders, otherwise, demonstrations will also be held in other parts of the city.
