British Prime Minister David Cameron was on Friday set to attend a meeting of the highly secretive Bilderberg group as the gathering of top politicians, academics and business leaders held a conference near London. Cameron's Downing Street office confirmed he would take part in a discussion at the invitation-only annual forum, which has become a magnet for conspiracy theorists because of its high-profile guest list and lack of public accountability.
This year's four-day event is taking place in the luxury Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, near the town of Watford north-west of London, and involves a stellar cast of 140 of the world's most powerful people. Cameron will join delegates from 21 countries to "participate in discussion around domestic and global economic issues", a Downing Street spokesman said.
