A 21-member Punjab cabinet took oath here on Monday during a ceremony held at Governor's House. Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood administered the oath to the cabinet. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.
Those who took oath as provincial ministers include Rana Sanaullah Khan, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, Atta Muhammad Manika, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd), Tanvir Aslam Malik, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Zakiya Shahnawaz, Hamida Waheed-ud-Din, Abdul Waheed Chaudhary, Bilal Yasin, Iqbal Channar, Dr Farrukh Javed, Raja Ishfaq Sarwar, Yawar Zaman, Asif Malik, Sher Ali Khan, Asif Saeed Khan, Syed Haroon Ahmed Sultan, Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique and Tahir Khalil Sindhu. Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Members National and Provincial Assemblies, Chief Secretary Punjab, Acting Inspector General Police, government officials, PML-N leaders and a large number of workers were also present on the occasion.
Congratulating the members of provincial cabinet, Shahbaz Sharif expressed the hope that they would come up to the expectations of the people and discharge their responsibilities efficiently. Talking to media on the occasion, he said all areas of the province have been given representation in the cabinet. He said that experienced, hardworking and capable persons have been inducted in the cabinet who would work round the clock for resolving public problems. To a question, he reiterated that all resources would be provided for solution of people's problems and development and prosperity of the country.
