In order to check illegal confinement in police stations and review the over all performance of the police, the Inspector General of Police has constituted an inspection team consists of senior police officers of Central Police Office (CPO). The team has been tasked to make surprise visit to various police stations through out the province and submit a report to the IGP about the irregularities in these police stations.
In this connection, eight inspection teams of Central Police Officers paid a surprise visit to various police stations in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera and Mardan on Wednesday. The team submitted a special report to the Inspector General of Police about these police stations. The Inspector General of Police has also strictly directed all Regional and District police officers to strictly discourage the illegal confinement and takes prompt action for solution of other public complaints.
