All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has rejected the federal budget for financial year 2013-14 and demanded amendment in it to make suitable increase in the salaries of the government employees. The protesting government servants also gave a strike call for Friday (June 14) and requested all government employees to fully participate in the protest to make it a success.
The decisions were taken in a meeting of APCA, Peshawar held here in Benevolent Fund Building with provincial president, Mohammad Aslam Khan in the chair. Those who attended were included president, APCA district Peshawar, Zakirullah, general secretary, Faiz Ali Shah, chairman, Action Committee, Imtiaz Khan Swati, Gul Bacha, Hayat Khan, Inayat Rahim, Sajjad, Shah Nawaz Khan, Sareer Khan, Mumtaz, Gohar and others.
Addressing the meeting, all district presidents and general secretaries strongly criticised the government for ignoring government employees in the national budget and demanded to amend and increase maximum in the salaries of the government employees. They also demanded the merging of all ad hoc relieves granted to employees in the basic pay as the prevailing price-hike had made the life of the employees miserable. They said that government employees since the beginning depend on their salaries, but the position had now totally changed, the prices of the edibles are increasing by each passing day. They said the refusal of the government to increase the salaries had multiplied the concern of the employees.
