People belonging to various walks of life including business and labourer communities have hailed the provincial budget 2013-14 and termed it peoples friendly. The government employees and labourers have also expressed their satisfaction on the increase in salaries which would help reduce their financial constrains.
The business community said that it is heartening to note that provincial government has set aside a huge amount to cope with energy crisis. Sialkot which is hub of cottage industry and export-oriented city of the country was direly needed the sufficient energy to keep the production wheel in full motion and hopefully the Punjab government will take aggressive and practical steps for overcoming the energy crisis.
President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Majid said that due to the prolonged outage of electricity the industrial sector had faced multiple problems as a result of which the productivity was at lowest ebb and unemployment increased many folds. The Punjab government has released the gravity of the issue and was taking steps for overcoming the energy crisis on top priority bases he said.
