The first meeting of provincial cabinet held at Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Monday with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak in the chair, accorded approval to the budget proposals of the annual budget of the province for the fiscal year 2013-14. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that better monitory discipline, better use of financial resources, and curtailing unnecessary expenditures were the amongst the priorities of the provincial government.
He lauded the efforts of senior provincial minister, Siraj-ul-Haq and his team for preparing budget proposals within a short span of time and according to the aspirations of the public. The chief minister said that the new budget will prove to be a ray of hope for the people of the province adding that besides implementing the agenda of change the provincial government will take measures to give optimum relief to the general public. Our policy and commitment for change is very clear and all the decisions of the provincial government will be guided by the wishes of the masses, social sector will be strengthened and there will be no compromise on providing better services to the public in education and health sectors; he continued.
Pervez Khattak said that people of the province had given mandate to the province government for change; and the agenda of change will be implemented at all costs, adding that all the doors of corruption, bribery, favouritism, nepotism, injustice and all other malpractices will be closed down; and reforms will be introduced in education, health, patwar and Thana culture and all other sectors of public service delivery for which necessary instructions and policy guidelines have already been given to the administrative heads of government departments, divisional commissioners and heads of district administration.
The chief minister expressed dissatisfaction on the slow pace of implementation of his directives for reforms in various sectors; and directed the relevant authorities to take effective measure regarding the implementation of the directives and instructions of the government so that its result and effects could be seen on grounds; and warned them of strict action if there was any delay or negligence on their part.
