The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government Monday also presented supplementary budget of Rs 17.68 billion for financial year 2012-13. The Senior Minister Siraj-ul-Haq, who also holds the portfolio of finance, presented the supplementary budget. He said that in the budget 2012-13, the current expenditure was estimated at Rs 191.60 billion, which in the revised budget increased to Rs 195 billion, which was Rs 3.40 billion more than the actual estimates.
However, he said, the supplementary budget of the current expenditure stood at Rs 7.6915 billion as in some grants the estimated either the expenses surpassed different objects in some grants or more allocations were under the grants for new objects.
Giving details of the supplementary allocations, the senior minister said that Rs 2,587413 billion were for Relief & Rehabilitation Department, District non-salary (Rs 1393346), administration of justice (Rs 68345000), energy and power (Rs 630178000), Health (Rs 467514000), Prisons (Rs 35555000), Police (Rs 159300000), Elementary Education (Rs 264229000), General Administration (Rs 346222000), Environment, Forests & Wildlife (Rs 235545000), Construction 7 Repairment (Rs 205238000), Higher Education (Rs 53830000), Irrigation (Rs 99187000), Industries (Rs 68412000), Sports and Tourism (Rs 68925000), Provincial Assembly (Rs 43307000), Local Government & Rural Development (Rs 18356000), Social Welfare and Special Education (Rs 4075000), Zakat Usher (Rs 7472000) and Inter-Provincial Co-ordination (Rs 60000).
Similarly, the estimated annual development budget was Rs 74.20 billion, which after revision declined to Rs 73.65 billion, showing a decrease of Rs 550 million. However, a supplementary budget of Rs 9.991 billion is being presented in the house as the federal government either provided extra funds for the PSDP schemes or the additional funds were provided for the completion of scheme before the time schedule or accelerating the pace of work on them. The provincial government received an amount of Rs 3.73 billion from federal government for PSDP schemes and additional Rs 6.27 billion for completion of provincial schemes or accelerating work on them.
