The Karachi Port handled 125,800 tonnes of cargo comprising 78,221 tonnes of import cargo and 47,579 tonnes of export cargo including 4,549 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday.T he total import cargo of 78,221 tonnes comprised 20,966 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,701 tonnes of general cargo; 8,007 tonnes of DAP and 36,547 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 47,579 tonnes comprised 38,406 tonnes of containerised cargo; 155 tonnes of general cargo; 9,018 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,834 tonnes of cement and 1,184 tonnes of loose bulk cement. As many as 4,549 containers comprising 1,359 containers import and 3,190 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 623 of 20's and 363 of 40's loaded while 4 of 20's and 3 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 804 of 20's and 591 of 40's loaded containers while 372 of 20's and 416 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There are three ships namely Northern Power, Hanjin Durban and Amber Arrow with two container ships and one vehicle carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are two vessels viz Alice Rickmers and Hyundai General with two container ships respectively are currently at the berths. There are four ships namely Santa Rosa, Bulk Arrow, Delfa and Beacon SW with one container ship, two cement carriers and one DAP carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Hyundai General and Stolt Endurance with one container ship and one chemicals carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There is one vessel viz Chemroute Sun with one ethanol tanker due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Northern Prelude, Pona, Oriental Marguerite and King Success with two container ships, one ethanol tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 67,118 tonnes comprising 33,264 tonnes of import cargo and 33,854 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,383 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 33,264 tonnes includes 7,728 tonnes of steel coil and 25,536 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,854 tonnes includes 14,113 tonnes of cement and 19,741 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,383 containers comprising 1,344 containers import and 1,039 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There are two ships namely CV Nysted Maersk and MV African Orchid with containers and steel coil are expected to sail out to sea on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of four vessels viz CV Nysted Maersk, MV Sam Tiger, MV Titan and MV African Orchid are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and steel coil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as three ships namely Maersk Kingston, Al-Salam-II and Liberty-N with containers, diesel oil and LPG are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There are five vessels viz CV MSC Clementina, CV Maersk Kingston, MT Al-Salam-II, MV Mu Dan Song and MT Liberty-N with containers, diesel oil, project cargo and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There are two ships namely CV Al-Noof and MV Zhe Hai with containers and project cargo due to arrive on Tuesday, while three ships namely CV CMA CGM Strauss, MT Alitis and MT Akaki with containers, soyabean meals and furnace oil are due to arrive on Wednesday. There are three vessels viz CV Hammunia Pacificum, MT Lahore and MV Peace Chem with containers, furnace oil and canola seeds respectively are also due to arrive as per arrival schedule.
