The Fata Grand Assembly will be organised on Saturday (today) to form a consensus regarding challenges with the implementation of already enacted political reforms in Fata at a hotel here. The Shaheed Bhutto Foundation (SBF), a non-profit, apolitical and non-governmental welfare organisation will be organising the event from 3:30pm to 5:30pm today.
The Fata Grand Assembly will include around 300 tribes from all seven agencies of Fata, and elders, students and females from all walks of life. The participants will gather to discuss and reach a consensus about the issues in implementation of political reforms in Fata and subsequently generate recommendations for further necessary reforms. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Engineer Shaukatullah Khan is expected to be the chief guest at the event. The SBF has been engaged with tribal elders, Ulema, religious scholars, as well as representatives of different political parties and civil society in Fata under the "Reforming FATA Programme".
