Liaquat Medical University Hospital Jamshoro (LMUH) organised a workshop on "Basic Life Support" (BLS) at "Harchand Rai Skill Lab" Ward 13, under the supervision of Professor Bikharam, the doctors from different districts of Sindh participated. The Vice Chancellor LMUHS Professor Mashoor Alam Shah expressed that the Basic life support is the level of medical care which is used for victims of life-threatening illnesses until they can be given full medical care at a hospital.
It can be provided by trained medical personnel, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and by laypersons who have received BLS training. BLS is generally used in the pre-hospital setting, and can be provided without medical equipment. Earlier, VC visited the Surgical and Medical wards of the LUMH and discussed with the faculty and the Postgraduate students on their academic activities.
Latter he visited a "Utility Store" to be established by LUMHS at the residential colony for the University employees, where the items of daily use shall be available on subsidised rates for the residents. The VC also announced to establish a "Women Vocational training center" for the residents of the colony.
