Islamabad Traffic Police on Saturday launched seven days traffic management campaign aiming to impart traffic rules among the road users to ensure save journey. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Police Baniyamin Khan inaugurated the campaign. Talking on the occasion, the IGP said the seven days campaign has been launched in light of directions of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
During the campaign, the education wing of the ITP would impart traffic rules among the people at various traffic crossings of the city. The FM 92.4 of Traffic Police has also chalked out special programmes to acquaint the people about the importance of observing traffic rules. IG, SSP Traffic and SP traffic distributed pamphlets among the people. He urged the persons driving the vehicles without acquiring licenses to immediately get the licenses.
In the inauguration ceremony, SSP traffic Dr Moeen Masood, SP Traffic Chaudhry Khalid Rashid and other officials were also present. The drivers having no license or other documents would be given seven days to acquire documents from relevant departments. After seven days the violators of traffic rules would be dealt with sternly. After the end of the campaign the violators of traffic rules would be punished irrespective of their position or status.
The campaign includes enhancing awareness against the demerits of underage driving, observing lane discipline while driving heavy vehicles, driving vehicle or motorcycle without license, imparting observance of rules before driving applied for vehicles. The IG appealed the people to avoid permitting underage children to ride motorcycle or vehicle. The persons having applied for vehicle should immediately get their vehicles registered.-PR
