The provincial government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa decided to constitute a working group for preparation of modalities for e-governance in the province. The decision was taken in a meeting held here with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the chair.
Senior leader PTI, Jahangir Tareen, Senior Provincial Minister Sirajul Haq, Provincial Minister for Information Technology, Shahram Tarakai, Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Shahzad Arbab, Administrative heads of provincial Finance, Planning and Development, Science and Information Technology department and experts from private sector attended the meeting.
The working group would be headed by the Provincial Minister for Science and Information Technology, Shahram Khan Tarakai and will submit its report within a period of ten days. The working group is comprised of representatives from public and private sectors of the province.
The meeting was given detailed presentations on tax reforms, a new system of local government, capacity enhancement of government departments, efficient use of resources, elevating poverty and unemployment, better public service delivery and innovation in agriculture sector.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak said PTI led provincial government is committed to revive the industrial sector through bringing foreign investment and establishment of industrial zones in the province.
He said due to peculiar geographic location the province is lagging far behind in the field of industrial development, availability of skilled manpower, market access, raw materials and the deteriorating law-and-order situation of the region and regular unemployment in the province increased manifold.
The meeting was also given a briefing by experts on e-governance system in the province to ensure good governance, efficiency, transparency and better service delivery in the government departments.
He said all the hindrances in the way of foreign investment will be removed to attract maximum foreign investment. He directed the authorities to work on emergency footings to implement the reform agenda of the government.
