The Karachi Port handled 109,913 tonnes of cargo comprising 89,928 tonnes of import cargo and 19,985 tonnes of export cargo including 1,070 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 89,928 tonnes comprised 4,698 tonnes of containerised cargo; 24,130 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,899 tonnes of DAP; 19,231 tonnes of coal and 61,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,985 tonnes comprised 6,645 tonnes of containerised cargo; 93 tonnes of general cargo and 13,247 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 1,070 containers comprising 256 containers import and 814 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 160 of 20's and 40 of 40's loaded while 10 of 20's and 3 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 204 of 20's and 87 of 40's loaded containers while 58 of 20's and 189 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are seven ships namely APL Brisbane, MOL Direction, Tasanee, Hanjin Indigo, Sofia, Ozay-5 and Gemmar Consul with five container ships and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are two vessels viz OEL Trust and CSC Brave with one container ship and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely Ebn Batuta with one oil tanker sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while three ships namely Kota Gembira, JS Congo and Trans Spring with one container ship, one coal carrier and one DAP carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. There are four vessels viz Kota Gembira, AS Olivia, Pacific Horizon-II and Kanchana Naree with one container ship, two ethanol tankers and one soyabean meal tanker respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Ever Result, Ever Result, Iver Prosperity, Fair Spirit and Clos-C with three container ships, one crude oil tanker and one sugar carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 121,951 tonnes comprising 99,531 tonnes of import cargo and 22,420 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,682 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 99,531 tonnes includes 12,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 30,023 tonnes of furnace oil; 13,143 tonnes of palm oil; 15,160 tonnes of canola seeds; 500 tonnes of iron ore; 167 tonnes of project cargo and 28,538 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 22,420 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,682 containers comprising 1,502 containers import and 1,180 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There is one ship namely CV Eddy Stone with containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning. A total number of eight vessels viz CV Nysted Maersk, CV Eddy Stone, MV Peace Gem, MV Out Rivaling, MV Thresa Tourus, MT Asphalt Merchant, MT Chemroad Sea and MT Quetta are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, canola seeds, iron ore, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely Eddy Stone, Thresa Tourus, MT Quetta, Out Rivaling-2 and Peace Gem with containers, palm oil, furnace oil, iron ore and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are three vessels viz CV CV Sealand Washington, CV Hanjin Los Angeles and MT Norgas Sonomo with containers and chemicals respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There is one ship namely MT Karachi with oil tanker due to arrive on Tuesday. There are three vessels viz CV Alliance St. Lous, CV CMA CGM Chopin and CV Bux Contact with containers are also due to arrive as per arrival schedule.
