Police request interior ministry to place US military attaché on ECL
The interior ministry has been requested by the Islamabad police to put United States Defence and Air Attaché Colonel Joseph Emanuel on the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to local media reports, the police wrote a letter on Monday requesting the ministry to put Emanuel's name on ECL who hit a motorbike, killing a man and injuring another in Islamabad.
On April 7, Emanuel ran a red light and hit a motorbike coming from the other side carrying Ateeq Baig and his cousin. Ateeq died on the spot whereas his cousin was injured.
Following the accident, police reached the spot and transported the diplomat’s car to the police station. Following the incident, the US Embassy had expressed its sympathy on Twitter to the family of the deceased.
