Nine-day LCCI Shopping Festival-2013 will start from August 17 to 26, 2013. The LCCI President, Farooq Iftikhar revealed this while addressing a press conference here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with Senior Vice President, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, former Senior Vice President, Engr. Sohail Lashari.
He said that the Festival, which is a combo of seven different events, would help rejuvenate economic activities that had turned sluggish owing to multiple challenges being faced by the trade and Industry.
He said that the Chief Minister Punjab would likely to inaugurate the Expo Lahore that is the most important event of the Lahore Shopping Festival.
He said that the LCCI Shopping Festival-2013 would be inaugurated on August 17 with Qiraat competition at the LCCI. All the LCCI members and their employees would be eligible to take part in the Qiraat competition.
Three events with the name of LSF Shopping Hangamma that includes a food festival, a concert and a puppet show would be held on August 18, 19 and 20 at Liberty Market, Anarkali and Moon Market respectively.
Young Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition would be on August 21 at 90 Shahrae Quaid Azam. The students of leading Universities and colleges would be encouraged to take part in the Business Plan Competition. The objective of Young Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition is to promote entrepreneurship among the students.
Punjabi Cultural Night would be held on August 22 and it has been made part of LSF to promote Punjabi language. The most important event would three-day expo at Expo Centre Lahore that would be inaugurated on August 23. All the LCCI members would be asked to put on display their goods at the expo and it help highlight the potential of this city that has attained the status of economic hub of the country.
On the sidelines of the expo, a Job Fair has also been arranged on August 24 where the job seekers would able to have direct interaction with the employer and get the job of their choice. Last year the LCCI Job Fair was a marvellous success.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI Senior Vice President, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that the Lahore Shopping Festival has been designed to supplement the government's efforts aimed at turning the province a hub of economic and cultural activities. He said that Punjab government had assured its full support to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Lahore Shopping Festival while a number of leading brands would announce discounts on the occasion and talks to this regard are at advance stage.
