Chaudhry Muhammad Boota, Vice President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has appreciated the effort of the government to overcome the energy crisis by devising New Energy Policy, which would help to overcome the electricity generation, achieve zero-load-shedding. Undoubtedly, it would also help to achieve GDP growth of 4.4 per cent and export target fixed for FY 2013-14, he added.
Commenting over the Energy Plan, he said that by allocation of Rs 225 billion for the energy projects, though not substantial, but would definitely help to reduce the electricity shortfall and hoped that the desired investments would be made through private sector participation and inviting foreign investors to launch projects in the power sector. He appreciated the programs launched by the government for revival of economy and improving the social safety network through Tameere Watan and alike programs and schemes for financial assistance to down-trodden segments of society and also 10 per cent increase in salary and pensions to minimise the inflationary impact to them. He said that youth is 45 per cent of our population and PM Youth Training program for Matric-pass, Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program for Middle education youth will contribute a lot to channelize the potential of our youth for self-employment and employment at overseas which will result into increased foreign remittances currently giving a substantial support to our external reserves.
