At least four persons including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, three persons namely Shehzad 25 son of Luqman, Shakeel and Adnan sustained injuries in an armed ambush near Masjid Qubah located at sector 11 1/2 Orangi Town in the jurisdiction of Iqbal police station.
Police said Shehzad succumbed to his injuries on spot while rest of the injured persons was shifted to hospital. Following the incident, tension prevailed in the area where all businesses were suspended. Police said the deceased was active worker of Unit 120 of MQM.
30-year-old Javeed son of Abdul Hameed was killed near Noman Avenue at Gulistan Johar in the jurisdiction of Sharah-e-Faisal police station. Police said that he was vegetable vendor and might have been killed over personal ground.
Another man namely Usman Ghani was killed near Navy Flats in the limits of Kalri police station. After the killing, tension gripped several parts of Lyari where two groups got engaged in an armed scuffle. Both groups carried out armed attacks and hurled grenades on each other that left a woman Amna killed. She was residing at Bihar Colony.
