Media professionals and students must contribute their role to bring peace and initiate normalisation process in Karachi. The faculty and students exchange programs and visits between national media and communication studies institutes are very crucial to learn from one and others experiences and research and to produce a lot of professionals, which much required to provide academic support to the fast growing national media industry.
These views were expressed by the ICS faculty members during a 20-member delegation of Karachi University's Mass Communication Department to Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) on Tuesday. The delegation was led by Dr Mehmood Ghaznavi. ICS In-charge Director Dr Noshina Saleem briefed the delegates about the research activities and role of ICS students in national media. She also briefed the delegation about various disciplines & degrees offered at ICS and involvement of media studies students in various curricular and co-curricular activities.
The students of KU and ICS students exchanged their ideas besides talking on the Karachi peace situation. ICS Faculty members said media students, who are tomorrow's media professional, can contribute a great deal to ensure peace and prosperity of the port city and business hub of the country. The media teachers said that media professionals can play a great role to bring about peace and normalisation in Karachi.
Earlier, the delegates in leadership of ICS director Dr Noshina visited various sections of the institutes while showing their keen interest in PUFM104.6, PUTV, and multimedia lab. Addressing on the occasion Dr Noshina and other faculty members expressed their hope that such exchange visits would continue in the future and both institute of media would contribute their part for the growth of national media industry.
