External evaluation and accreditation of the agriculture degree programmes is the mandatory function of the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) of HEC. Accreditation, rating process is carried-out through validation of reports of a degree programme as well as an objective assessment of the human, physical, financial resources and facilities available for the degree programme.
The council has so far carried out on-site visits of about 170 degree programmes at different Agri. Institutions of Higher Education in Punjab, Sindh and KPK. The present on-site visit of AIC to the degree programme of School of Professional Advancement (SPA), University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore is being carried out for one day on July 4 with the mutual consent of the respective HOD of the host institution. An AIC has been Constituted by the Chairman NAEAC and the Secretary of Council is co-ordinating the activities of the visit if the AIC.
Generally, the on-site visit commences with an over-view of the degree programme given by the HOD followed by an examination of the records of meetings of BOS and BOF, students-assessment instruments, admission and withdraws policies. Availability of text book, journals in the departmental and main library. Besides interaction with each faculty member, meeting with a group of graduate students shall be organised to obtain their views about the on-going degree programme. The overall objective of external assessment and accreditation process is to improve the quality of higher education, enhance the capacity of institutions and upgrade physical infrastructure to achieve and sustain academic excellence.
The council ensures transparent, neutral and unbiased external evaluation and accreditation process by the concerned experts. Efforts are made to carry-out the accreditation process in a participatory mode and transparent manner to share the findings and recommendation of AICs by all the stakeholders.-PR
