Taiwan stocks fell 0.2 percent on Thursday, with smartphone maker HTC Corp extending a recent slump on concerns over its quarterly results and outlook for the second half. The main TAIEX index, falling for a fourth straight day, ended down at 7,893.72. Electronics shares slipped 0.7 percent. HTC shares shed 3 percent, extending losses to about 15 percent this week. The struggling smartphone maker is due to report earnings on Friday. The Taiwan dollar rose sharply by T$0.264 to T$30.038 to the US dollar.
