LAHORE: The team at Dekho.com.pk reveals that Pakistan’s twin capital cities Rawalpindi/Islamabad are also the trading capitals in online second-hand items with a value of PKR 7,765.7 per capita.Rawalpindi and Islamabad are followed by Lahore with PKR 6,904.2 per capitaand Karachi PKR 1722.3 per capita as compared to PKR851.37 per capita for Pakistan as a whole. Currently Pakistan’s fastest growing free classifieds website, Dekho.com.pk’s trading value has crossing over PKR 1 Hundred Trillion[PKR 159,499,011,131/- or 1 hundred and fifty nine trillion, four hundred and ninety nine million, eleven thousand and one hundred and thirty one rupees] in justten months since its introduction in Pakistan in November 2011.
The Dekho.com.pk team further confirm that Lahore have the most valued second hand trade value for cars with an average price of PKR 785,036 followed by Rawalpindi/Islamabad with PKR 761,252 and Karachi with PKR 626,951 possibly owing to Karachi being the first city on port-entry for all second hand imports. Further analysis also reveals that with an average price of PKR 21,860,813 for houses in Karachi as compared to PKR 13,566,355 in Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad has one of the lowest average values for houses with an average value of PKR 13,520,168.
Interestingly, the online trading of animals is also actively picking up with Lahore alone providing trading value of PKR 54,804,035 among which dogs and farm animals are the most popular. Dekho.com.pk has also received over 5,700 job postings across Pakistan in these 10 months.
In terms of sheer numbers, Lahore is the online classified trading capital in Pakistan according to Dekho.com.pk with over 47% [PKR 75,946,267,779] of the online classified trading market share.
