Price Control Magistrates remained active in the provincial capital on Thursday to check prices of edible items and in this connection conducted massive raids on different shops to check quality and rates of edible items. According to an official, during the raids the Price Control Magistrates arrested 12 shopkeepers for overcharging and recovered fine amounting Rs 309,000.
DCO Lahore Naseem Sadiq has instructed the Price Control Magistrates to remain in market and if any shopkeeper tried to overcharge citizens, strict action should be taken against him.
