The Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Limited (PPCBL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on ICT collaboration with PTCL here on Friday. The MoU was signed by PPCBL President/CEO, Syed Talat Mahmood and PTCL SEVP, Hamid Farooq. On the occasion Ahmed Alhamdi, EVP, Etisalat Advisor to PTCL, and other top management officials from PTCL were present along with all the Heads of Division of PPCBL.
PPCBL President/CEO Syed Talat Mahmood welcomed PTCL management to PPCBL. "It is a beginning of a wonderful partnership and, as a technology partner PTCL will help strengthen the IT infrastructure of the PPCBL. We plan to bring PPCBL side by side with other commercial banks. PPCBL customers will be able to take advantage of the development in information and technology in the bank. PPCBL intends to deploy ATM machines and provide services like Mobile banking and Internet banking in the near future to facilitate its clientage," he added.
Hamid Farooq thanked the PPCBL for the opportunity. He introduced his team members and gave a brief overview on the terms of the memorandum. He said inviting PTCL to sign MoU was an aggressive initiative by PPCBL and PTCL will provide all the IT related support to PPCBL, which includes hosting of PPCBL's data centre with PTCL's state -of-the-art Tier III data centre facility, VPN connectivity for the whole network of the bank, managed WAN services, making PTCL's One Stop Shops/ Customer service centres available to PPCBL for delivery of its ATM services E-Business products and a lot more. PPCBL SVP/Head IT Mahmood Khan paid regards to Hamid Farooq for personally arriving to sign the MoU with the PPCBL. He said PPCBL will provide all the required banking services to PTCL and its employees. He wished this partnership to be long lasting and mutually beneficial.
