Chairman PTI Imran Khan on Friday strongly condemned the killing of 8 unarmed Kashmiris by Indian forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). He also condemned the internment of Kashmiri leaders. Khan regretted that IOK had one of the highest concentrations of military force. But he pointed out that the people of Kashmir have continued to struggle for their right of self determination generation after generation.
Imran Khan also expressed shock that the Government of Pakistan has maintained an unacceptable silence. "While we want peace in the region and better relations with India, we cannot ignore the struggle of the Kashmiris for self determination. A political solution to the Kashmir conflict, premised on the wishes of the Kashmiri people, has to be an integral part of moving towards peace in the subcontinent."
