The Karachi Port handled 113,988 tonnes of cargo comprising 64,917 tonnes of import cargo and 49,071 tonnes of export cargo including 5,084 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 64,917 tonnes comprised 22,659 tonnes of containerised cargo; 736 tonnes of general cargo and 23,131 tonnes of bulk cargo: 15,100 tonnes of coal; 3,208 tonnes of suredded scrap; 4,823 tonnes of rock phosphate and 18,391 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 49,071 tonnes comprised 45,859 tonnes of containerised cargo; 460 tonnes of general cargo; 607 tonnes of cement and 2,145 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 5,084 containers comprising 1,535 containers import and 3,549 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 576 of 20's and 424 of 40's loaded while 37 of 20's and 37 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,063 of 20's and 825 of 40's loaded containers while 152 of 20's and 342 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are six ships namely APL Brisbane, OOCL Britain, Rio Charleston, Al Yarmouk, Jacksonville and Sky Mariner V with three container ships, one oil tanker, one tug/barge and one coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are four vessels viz Naxihe, Kota Arif, OEL Trust and Stavanger Bliss with three container ships and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
There are three ships namely Naxihe, Ellie and Banglar Mamata with one container ship, one coal carrier and one jute carrier respectively expected to sail on Wednesday. There are four vessels viz OOCL Jakarta, MT Karachi, Lodestar Genesis and Vinalines Mighty with one container ship, one crude oil tanker, one chemicals carrier and one soyabean meals carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Kota Anggerik, UASC Shuwaikh, Posen, Ozay-5 and Liberty Promise with three container ships, one ethanol tanker and one vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 26,939 tonnes comprising 21,521 tonnes of import cargo and 5,418 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 940 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 21,521 tonnes includes 7,199 tonnes of edible oil and 14,322 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes and 5,418 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely MT Fuji Galaxy with edible oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of three vessels viz CV Nysted Maersk, MT Gulf Oasis and MT Fuji Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as five ships namely President Truemen, Hanjin San Diego, CMA CGM Moliere, Better Sea Park and Flora with containers, chemical and cement currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were three vessels with containers, furnace oil and edible oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There are three ships namely CV Hanjin San Diego, CV CMA CGM Moliere and MV Better Sea Park with containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
