Google removes its Pixel, Pixel XL from online stores
Google has removed its original Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones from its online stores, without disclosing the reason behind it.
Google has officially verified that its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are now no longer available to purchase from its online Google Store or ProjectFi page. However, the phones can be bought from places such as Amazon and Best Buy.
Google faces lawsuits over its faulty Pixel phones
As per Android Police, when clicked on the page URL for the first generation Pixel phones, it is redirected to the phone category on the Google Store with two links, the Pixel 2 and its accessories. Launched in 2016, these two Pixel phones were among the excellent ones. Google even made a $100 price cut on the phones that made it more appealing.
The Verge predicts that the phones were replaced with Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL after their launch last year, which made a significant decrease in the phones’ availability until now when Google entirely decided to remove them from their official store, probably because of this reason.
