The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday congratulated Mamnoon Hussain for winning presidential election with thumping majority. The LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar in a statement said that the country won more respect in the eyes of global community on the completion of democratic process that started on May 11, 2013.
He said that the country's economy would take a positive turn as such a person has been elected President of Pakistan who has complete understanding of the business issues. He also congratulated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for choosing a businessman for the slot of President of Pakistan and winning the election with thumping majority.
Farooq Iftikhar hoped that newly elected President would help solve the challenges being faced by the business community as he had already served the business community as President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as Governor Sindh in 1999.
