Habib University (HU) hosted a two-day international workshop in Colombo, Sir Lanka on July 30. The Habib University Curriculum Design Workshop was held with an aim to develop world class and contextualized curricula for its ground-breaking Liberal Arts programme with the support of leading academics from the United States, Canada, the Middle East and India.
The workshop was chaired by Wasif Rizvi, President, Habib University. The discussions were led and moderated by Dr Nauman Naqvi, Acting Dean & Founding Faculty, School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Habib University. Faculty from nine universities from around the world actively participated in the workshop and lent their rich academic experience towards the creation of robust liberal arts curricula.
The workshop was organised as part of HU's efforts to build a pre-eminent institution of higher learning, dedicated to enriching individual lives and engaging society through teaching, research and service. The focus of the discussions was around the development of a contextualized curricula to ensure a holistic educational environment inspiring students to excel in their chosen fields of study. "The varied experiences of the participants assisted us to learn from global practices and benefit from a range of teaching methods," said Wasif Rizvi.
