Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that land record computerisation project will be completed by 2014 which will rid the people of Patwar culture. He said that no compromise will be made on the standard of construction of the service centres for the project. He was presiding over a high level meeting here on Friday to review the pace of progress on land record management information system.
Provincial Minister for Local Government and Law, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Advisors Azm-ul-Haq, Assembly members, Rana Afzal Khan, Kh. Imran Nazir, Ahmed Khan Baloch, Ijaz Noon, Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning and Development and other concerned officials were present.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said that land record computerisation project is very important to the people for acquiring ownership and transfer deeds of their property and all-out resources are being utilised for the speedy completion of the project. He said that after computerisation of land record data will be available in only 30 minutes. He said that 61 service centres are working on land record computerisation while the process of data entry of 17000 villages of 21 districts has been completed. He said that land record computerisation project will play an important role in the transparency of the system and good governance.
The CM directed that more assistant directors Land Revenue be recruited through Public Service Commission. On the occasion, the CM also directed to constitute a Cabinet committee for checking fraud in the name of consolidation of land which will submit its report within a month. He said that the officers showing good performance in the land computerisation project will be encouraged.
