The Karachi Port handled 129,780 tonnes of cargo comprising 107,585 tonnes of import cargo and 22,195 tonnes of export cargo including 4,397 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 107,585 tonnes comprised 35,301 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,208 tonnes of general cargo; 23,415 tonnes of bulk cargo and 42,661 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,195 tonnes comprised 19,727 tonnes of containerised cargo; 290 tonnes of general cargo and 578 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,397 containers comprising 2,543 containers import and 1,854 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 806 of 20's and 808 of 40's loaded while 7 of 20's and 57 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 610 of 20's and 358 of 40's loaded containers while 22 of 20's and 253 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There are six ships with two container ships, two oil tankers, one general cargo ship and one coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are three vessels with three container ships respectively are currently at the berths.
There are three ships namely MT Karachi, Elizabeth and Vinalines Mighty with one oil tanker, one coal carrier and one soyabean meal carrier respectively are expected to sail on Saturday. There are four vessels viz Ever Result, Hanjin Indigo, Nasco Pearl and UBC Canada with two container ships, one coal carrier and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 113,257 tonnes comprising 73,385 tonnes of import cargo and 39,872 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,604 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 73,385 tonnes includes 56,051 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,900 tonnes of palm oil; 4,503 tonnes of fertiliser and 1,904 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 39,872 tonnes of containerised cargo. There are three ships namely CV Kerstin-S, MT Bunga Aster and MV Orient Singapore with containers, edible oil and cement sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon, while another ship namely CV MSC Kerry with containers sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of eleven vessels viz CV Kerstin-S, APL Oman, MSC Kerry, MT Gulf Oasis, Dong Hai Jun, Bunga Aster, Chem Road Quest, MT Euro Progress, Beacon SW, Elini-D and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, fertiliser, furnace oil, palm oil, wheat, dredger and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely Hansa Africa, Sea Glory, Brightoil Legend and Flora with containers, furnace oil, crude oil and cement currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were three vessels with containers and palm oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There are three ships namely CV Hansa Africa, MT Sea Glory and MT Bunga Kantan Dua with containers, furnace oil and edible oil due to arrive on Saturday.
