A meeting was held at University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar to look into matter of delay in awarding degrees to the students of BSc Electrical Engineering (communication) UET Kohat Campus. Professor Dr Zahid Mehmood decided to launch a separate semester in Fall 2013 at Peshawar Campus to teach deficient courses to the students of Kohat Campus.
These courses are required for the conferment of B.Sc. electrical engineering degree (communication) as per the criteria of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and UET Peshawar. Co-ordinator, Kohat Campus, Engr Iftikhar Ahmad Afridi and Professor Dr Mohammad Inayatullah Babar, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, also briefed participants that this programme was shifted from KUST to UET, Peshawar when the senior most batch of students had already reached its final semester.
However, efforts are being made to resolve the issue and UET Peshawar is in contact with the PEC Peshawar to sort out the matter on priority basis. Dr Zahid Mehmood directed the faculty to expedite the process and share a plan of action for quick implementation so that precious time of students could be saved.
