Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday rejected the new Sindh Local Bodies System, proposed by Pakistan People's Party (PPP). The MQM demanded the restoration of 2012's LB System in the province but ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP), the leading political party in Sindh, has declared it impossible. Sindh Law Minister Sikandar Mendhro announced on Tuesday, that Sindh regime is ready to hold local bodies' polls after August 15.
A draft of new local bodies' system has been handed over to Sindh Chief Minister for approval and now the Election Commission can issue schedule of local bodies' anytime after August 15, he added. The MQM has rejected PPP's draft of new local bodies' system completely and termed it as a conspiracy of dividing Karachi into pieces. The MQM opposition leader in Sindh Syed Sardar Ahmad has vowed that his party will oppose PPP's local bodies' system in the provincial assembly.
