The Inspector General, NH&MP Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema has directed to increase number of patrolling officers and briefings on the road to ensure more safe journey of commuters while keeping in view the huge traffic flow on the roads ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to a press release issued of the National Highway and Motorways Police issued here on Wednesday said that decision was taken to ensure safe and secure journey of commuters on the highways and motorways due to huge traffic flow on ahead of the major religious festival.
In pursuance to the directives of the W/Inspector General, Muhammad Tahir, SSP M-1 personally supervised the campaign. During the session Iftari packets and special road safety pamphlets and brochures printed for the purpose were distributed amongst the commuters at Main Toll Plaza, Peshawar and Burhan Toll Plaza. On the occasion, SSP M-1 gave a press briefing to the journalists regarding the basic motive of Motorway Police in providing safe and uninterrupted travel on highways and motorways.
