Security Plan across the Punjab on the eve of Eidul Fitr has been finalised in a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig, at CPO, Lahore. All senior officers of CPO attended the meeting. It was decided here on Wednesday in a meeting that Eid holidays of all police officers and official have been cancelled and all training schools and colleges will also remain open during Eid festival.
Deployment of 50,723 Police officers / officials at sensitive areas, Markets, Mosques, Madaris and important government buildings was also approved in the meeting. According to Security Plan, made available to Business Recorder, 246 gazetted officers, 726 Inspectors, 1983 Sub-Inspectors, 3179 ASIs, 2102 Head Constables, 27582 constables, 11046 Police Qaumi Razakars whereas, 3859 officials of special police force will remain on duty throughout the Eidul Fitr. Moreover, it was also decided in the meeting that 103 walk through gates, 7494 metal detectors and 337 CCTV Cameras will also be installed at sensitive points of the province.
IGP Punjab stressed upon the officers to remain alert during the occasion and also advised them to keep constant contact with their subordinates so that in case of any kind of untoward situation, timely action and strategy would be adopted. Provincial Police Chief also expressed hope that public will extend its co-operation with the police department and remain watchful about any mysterious activities in their surroundings and will also immediately inform the police about such things so that it could maintain law and order by providing the public a cordial environment in Punjab on Eid festival.
