New satellite captures in HD everything you do on Earth

A British startup company’s satellite is all set to invade your privacy as it can see your tiny details from the orbit and that too in high definition.

British startup called Earth-i recently published its first collection of high-quality, color footage that was taken from its VividX2 satellite. This image was first of the 15 that the company plans will include in its ‘constellation’. The 100kg satellite manufactured by Surrey Satellite Technologies Ltd. (SSTL) is also called as Carbonite-2. Nose-pickers, bathers, speedy driver, the satellite can sneak on everything.

As per Futurism, the video captured by the satellite shows off its ability to take high-quality and colored footage of the everyday things going-on on Earth. The resolution showed off by the satellite was adequate enough to see individual cars speeding on the highways. The video shows cars, airports and city life in various countries.

New satellite from China will improve communication in Pakistan’s remote areas

“We are really delighted with the quality of imagery we are getting even at this early stage of commissioning. It is exceeding our expectations,” Richard Blain, Earth-i chief executive, told SpaceNews.

Moreover, VividX2 can also render 3D models of whatever is in its view, which can prove to be beneficial for disaster response teams for tracking floods or storm damages, a thing which is currently captured by drones. This satellite can prove almost live feed with HD quality so that the responder teams can take action more quickly.

The company claims on its website that the satellite can help with geographical mapping, oil spill monitoring, managing huge areas of farmland, disaster relief efforts, along with performing surveillance and inspection for militaries or private citizens.

For the future, after the company will launch more satellites, it aims to provide customers a 2-minute video feed access of a particular area or track moving targets such as airplanes or cars. However, Blain refused to comment regarding the cost of Earth-i’s constellation.
