Avicii’s fans wish to ‘wake him up’ after his sudden death
Sudden death of Swedish DJ and producer Avicii on Friday has left millions of his fans around the world devastated. The reason for death, however, remains unclear.
The world’s most successful DJ, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, capital city of Oman. The family has requested privacy in their difficult time. “The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time,” Variety quoted his publicist.
He was nominated twice for Grammy Awards for best dance recording. According to Billboard, Avicii’s most popular song ‘Wake Me up’ released in 2013 held the record for most weeks at number one with 26 weeks until last summer. He was ranked 10th on Forbe’s world’s highest paid DJs in 2012.
Although his fans from all over the world expressed their grieve on social media soon after the news broke out, many celebrities including Bollywood stars and world famous American singer Madonna were among the saddened.
