Armeena Khan says she was groped in Lahore despite wearing burka
Soon after Pakistani actress/singer Meesha Shafi shared her sexual harassment incident in the wake of the worldwide #METOO campaign, many actresses have come forward sharing the experiences of their own, including Armeena Khan.
Pakistani actress Armeena, who has worked in a number of television dramas and movies, is a outspoken protagonist who does not fear speaking on any topic. The ‘Janaan’ actress recently slammed the common victim shaming and assumptions that clothing of women bring them trouble.
The actress described her incident when she was all covered in a burka when not one but two sexually assaulted her in the middle of the famous streets of Anarkali in Lahore.
I was in #Anarkali in Lahore in a burka (nobody knew who I was). I literally had my backside groped and breasts grabbed. NOT by one guy but by 2. Now, my family saw that and I asked them why? I was told it was a really common thing there. Did I deserve that? #Metoo #Horrified

The actress didn’t just stop there and argued with almost everyone who tried to shame her for sharing her story. Armeena also slammed another Pakistani singer/actress Rabi Pirzada who was characterizing women types with sexual harassment.
Ms. Pirzada. Thank you. I know we haven’t met ever but I implore you retract the “the right women” only statement. It is only going to bring further disrepute to a justified cause. Misogyny is alive and well and we need to come together. Have a nice day. https://t.co/ypzRO10VK2

Rabi had said that she respects women speaking for their rights but only the right kind of women not like Meesha or Ayesha Omer.
U r right... i wouldn't ve commented this if these stories were not coming out of controversial women. Meesha ayesha umer etc cannot and should not discuss these incidents. I know them more than you do. I respect girls speaking for their rights... but only the RIGHT ones...

I never knew you got these issues too... definitely i respect you... but not every girl... u have earnt respect they didn't...

Youtuber and social media celebrity Zaid Ali also tweeted about something similar and bashed the people who blame the clothing of women linking it to sexual harassment.
Its amazing when you hear people say “she deserves to be harassed because of her clothing” forgetting that even women that wear burqas get harassed. It’s not the clothing, it’s the mentality.
