At least four persons, including two cousins were killed in separate incidents, here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, two cousins namely Mehtab and Areeb were killed while three others injured when their uncle's son opened indiscriminate fire on them over a property dispute near Lal Masjid at Paposh Nagar in the limits of Paposh police post.
SHO Paposh Shaukat Awan said deceased Mehtab had property dispute with his uncle Haji Maroof. He said Mehtab along with other relatives came to Maroof's residence to resolve the issue but Maroof's son Aamir resorted to firing that left Mehtab and Areeb dead while three others injured. Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested Haji Maroof and one of his sons from the crime scene. Further investigation was under way.
Driver of a private TV channel was beaten to death during coverage of a bus stand at Sohrab Goth police station. Police said that the reporting team of a private TV channel arrived at Super Highway, near Al-Asif Square to record views of passengers over exorbitant bus fares on the occasion of Eid. The management of intercity bus stand while trying to stop the news channel team finally started beating them up with batons that left driver Gul Sher dead. Police rushed to the spot and arrested a bus driver Aimal and manager Nisar. Bullet-riddled body of a man was found from Lyari Expressway in the limits of Pak Colony police station. Police said the identity of the victim could not be ascertained while the body was shifted to Edhi morgue for identification.
